Amberol Heart of England in Bloom

Amberol have been manufacturing self-watering planters for over 40 years, working in partnership with Britain in Bloom groups, councils, schools and businesses across the UK, helping create stunning floral displays to keep Britain beautiful.

Made from sturdy recyclable polyethylene, Amberol’s self-watering planters come in a range of styles, sizes and colours, including tiered planters, wood effect barrels, hanging baskets and stone effect troughs. As most planters need watering no more than once a week even in the warmest weather, using Amberol’s self-watering planters reduces time, saves money and cuts down on maintenance. Planters can also be customised with signage and logos and are available in a wide range of colours.

Amberol also manufacture and supply external and internal litter bins, including recycling bins to help make a visible difference to the UK’s public spaces.

Sutton Coldfield Town Council Sponsors f Heart of England in Bloom

Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council was established in 2016 as a ‘parish council’ within the administrative boundary of Birmingham City Council. The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield has population of over 95,000 which means that its Town Council is one of the largest parish councils in England.

Sutton Coldfield is situated just over 6 miles to the northeast of Birmingham City Centre and shares an administrative border with Lichfield, North Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Walsall. It has a rich history, the most significant legacy of which is Sutton Park, the former hunting lands of Henry VII which were donated to the residents of the town in 1528 and now one of the largest urban parks in England covering an area of just over 900ha.

The Sutton Coldfield in Bloom campaign was launched by the Town Council in 2018 and brings together the town’s entry to the small city category of the Heart of England in Bloom competition. The many community groups, individuals, schools and businesses that are involved in Sutton Coldfield in Bloom were delighted to be awarded a Silver Gilt in 2018 and a Gold award in 2019 and, following a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are looking forward to entering the competition for a third time in 2022.
